By developing these skills, the idea is that Accenture can build the next generation with the skills to adapt and make the most of rapidly changing technology.
"Technology is more important than ever, and moving faster than ever, changing at an unprecedented rate and innovations are occurring every day," Vohra said. "We are collaborating with MIT Sloan to create this program that will enable future leaders with the tools and bold new way of thinking to stay on top of the changes and understand how new innovations can help our clients disrupt their current markets and penetrate new ones."
The program is a year-long commitment, with classes using Accenture's connected classroom technology. Accenture employees will be taught by Sloan faculty, who they will also be able to use as coaches and mentors. Accenture employees will get a certificate upon completion.
Vohra said the program show's Accenture's investment in its people and their future.
"A program like this will challenge some of our highest performing managers to think radically different about technology and the leadership role they can play in shaping the future of Accenture's technology business. This program demonstrates to our employees a commitment to developing the next generation of technology leaders and their continued career success," Vohra said.
Accenture already has collaborations with MIT Professional Education for the Accenture Technology Academy around business processes, software development and application services and analytics.
The program is expected to see its first graduates in February.
