How important is it for VARs/solution providers to start implementing NFV in 2015?

NFV is a game-changing concept that is ushering a new era in networking. It's always good to be early in the market and be able to influence the direction the industry takes.

We believe there will always be a market for premise-based devices, especially at the high end. But for branch office and retail locations, NFV offer too many cost and process efficiencies to be ignored.

If a solution provider decides to not embrace this technology, it's our belief they risk losing market share in key business segments.

How is your recently launched cloud-based Cloud Router unique?

We believe Masergy is the first managed network service provider to implement network routing in the cloud. It enables our customers to manage their network routing needs centrally without any remote premise equipment.

Do you see cloud-based routers as the future?

In the near term, cloud routers will be a good option for branch offices and remote locations that don't want to install specialized hardware and don't have on-site IT personnel. As the technology matures, we will see cloud routing being deployed more widely.
