Find Someone Versed In Diplomacy

A successful breach is a sensitive and stressful time for any customer. For that reason, McDonald said diplomacy is one of the "most important things you can learn to do" in security. That's not a skill everyone has, he said, so he suggested to make sure at least one person in top leadership can  to handle that type of situation.

"If you're not a people person and can't process the politics and motions, you might want to find someone in your company who can," McDonald said.
