The Wi-Fi Alliance has doubled the maximum channel bandwidth for its Wi-Fi Certified 802.11ac standard from 80 MHz channels to 160 MHz channels.
The jump in MHz should bode well for solution providers as vendors will need to build networking solutions that can handle higher bandwidths as increasingly more smartphones, tablets and other BYOD consumer electronics connect to the corporate network.
