While iOS has been widely perceived as invulnerable, MobileIron’s report found that this view is beginning to change.

Over the past year, more iOS malware variants were reported, including YiSpector, KeyRaider and XcodeGhost. The National Vulnerability Database reported that in 2015 there were 375 Apple iOS vulnerabilities.

“iOS continues to dominate as the OS for enterprises — 78 percent of enterprise devices are iOS while 18 percent are Android,” Ginevan said. “A lot of enterprises think that iOS is relatively invulnerable … but iOS vulnerabilities are increasing.”

That means channel partners must stay at the forefront with next-generation enterprise mobility management (EMM) solutions that provide tools to identify and manage these device risks, he said.
