6. Detail What a Typical Work Week Looks Like in the Role

Prospective employees should receive a list of six to 10 formal duties they'll have in the open position, Russell said, with the responsibilities spanning no more than three areas.  

Employers can give job candidates a much better idea of what the position would look like by breaking down the number of hours workers can expect to be doing each of the listed responsibilities in an average week, Russell said.

That should serve to dispel any erroneous assumptions a potential employee has about the job, Russell said.
