Survey: Security Business Ripe For Solution, Service Providers

A little more than half – 51 percent – of solution providers say they initiate security discussions with their customers, the CompTIA survey found. But no matter which side reaches out first, the main talking point about security last year – for about two-thirds of both solution providers and customers - focused on changes in IT operations, according to the findings.

That continues what CompTIA calls a “positive trend” seen in its previous research, that, rather than rely on security as a high priority to drive investment, “a specific conversation” around new IT operational models can drive conversation around what security steps should be taken.
