How Secure Are AI Solutions? Report Urges Caution

Researchers: AI Cybersecurity Solutions Still Flawed

Nearly three-quarters of researchers – 74 percent – said cybersecurity solutions driven by artificial intelligence are still flawed.

Researchers told Carbon Black that the biggest risks in using AI-driven security solutions are high false positive rates, too much reliance on humans to make security decisions and slower security operations. They also cited solutions that are "easy for attackers to bypass."

"A key element of AI to consider … is that it is programmed and trained by humans and, much like humans, can be defeated," Carbon Black said. "AI-driven security will only work as well as it’s been taught to."
