How Valiant Helps Creative Clients Stay On Cutting Edge

"It's a huge problem," Clancy said, describing how photographer clients might take three terabytes of photos in a single shoot, then have to wait hours to upload that to the cloud for retouching. That speed barrier means that for the time being, hybrid cloud solutions are the name of the game, where clients can have cloud storage solutions but perhaps work off an on-premise server for in-office projects.
"The cloud is not yet open to them," Clancy said. That's the thing that we're working on right now – hybrid cloud solutions."
While storage is a big challenge for his clients, Clancy said the core business to Valiant Technology is its managed services offering, which acts as a complete IT department with proactive and reactive maintenance for 50 of its 60 total clients. Clancy said that Valiant tries to bring the "CIO relationship" to his clients, where it is the company's job to help its clients stand out from the industry standard with superior technology.
"That's the thing that we're trying to be for our customers when we say we're the entire IT department, that's what we're bringing...the CIO relationship, the consultative relationship, as a result of our industry expertise," Clancy said.
Managed services hasn't always been the focus for the company, Clancy said. Between 2007 and 2008, Valiant underwent a drastic transformation from a more traditional VAR to MSP and has "never looked back." Despite the transition, the company has remained focused on the creative space, though it has become pickier about which clients it takes on.
