10 Gartner Technology Trends For 2016 And The Impacts On Solution Providers

Mesh App And Service Architecture

Application teams will begin creating new, modern architectures for flexible and dynamic cloud-based applications. For instance, micro-service architecture is an emerging trend to build distributed applications that support deployment both on-premises and in the cloud.

Cloud-based applications are becoming particularly advanced and will make a difference with modern architecture, said James Watson, CEO of BlackPoint, a Kent, Wash.-based solution provider.

“I think cloud adoption is accelerating and you are seeing more and more companies view IT as a utility,” Watson said. “What that means companies will form entirely new divisions to provision IT and when they are done turn it off ... What is interesting is it is all levels of companies from the very small to the large that are adopting this trend.”

WHAT SOLUTION PROVIDERS NEED TO KNOW: Solution providers that offer cloud-based application development services should take note as mesh app and service architecture begin to take shape.
