SMBs Are Not Immune

SMBs were long thought to be "immune" from attackers, given that they are often don't provide the same return on investment for a hacker that an enterprise would. However, that is changing McDonald said as hackers recognize that SMBs are forgoing their security and pose an easy target for attack.

"It's all about going after the little guy now," McDonald said.

With that in mind, McDonald pressed that VARs jumping into security need to make sure to not forget their SMB customers and press upon them the importance of investing in their security portfolios.
