Don't Be A Generalist

McDonald said he is winning contract after contract when his security specialist firm is pitted against generalist MSPs. In security, a VAR can't just be a generalist, he said, because they don't understand the full impacts and regulatory concerns of what they are doing with security and, as a result, are "woefully underprepared for the threats and even less prepared for response." What's more, he said that generalist MSPs are setting themselves up for significant penalties, fines and even lawsuits if the security technologies are not implemented correctly.
