Slightly more than half of the respondents to the Deloitte survey – 56 percent – said their companies either have mature Internet of Things deployments or were building IoT technology.
The most common product category for IoT applications was smart hybrid cloud monitoring technology (50.6 percent). Meanwhile, slightly less than half – 47.6 percent -- reported using smart industrial devices, such as environmental sensors, smart metering, and supply chain tracking, while 43.2 percent said their companies use smart consumer devices.
But in the future, surveyed companies see strong opportunities in IoT-powered technology that focuses within the company: tracking business processes and employee productivity.
