Q&A: Why Cloud Trumps Connectivity For Master Agent's Partners
Submitted by Gina Narcisi on
Why has PlanetOne chosen to avoid cable/connectivity partnerships?
We have consciously stayed away for a couple of reasons. Three to four orders out of every 10 [fail] … because of [reasons such as] a limited footprint and the carrier can’t extend the network to the customer's premise. Unfortunately, [the partner] has to spend a lot of resources pricing the circuit, presenting it to the customer, doing the paperwork, submitting the deal to the cable company, and waiting for the truck to roll, only to find out it can’t be done. That could be about a $16,000 cost [for the partner] and we are talking about a $150r-a-month customer that would never subsidize that cost. There are just latent problems with the cable industry as a whole.
We are all-in on cloud services. We placed our bet on cloud, and are closing record cloud deals with our channel partners.
