Legal matters have been one of the most frequent sources of frustration for small and mid-size solution providers, Liutikas said.

Despite typically being small and having limited resources, IT services companies will encounter a complex legal environment that often includes high-level service arrangements and highly regulated verticals, Liutikas said.

Financial pressures sometimes prompt solution providers to forgo legal counsel, Liutikas said, putting their business in a vulnerable position.

In-house attorneys are extremely rare for all but the twenty largest solution providers, Liutikas said, or in particularly unusual circumstances.
