3D Printing

Gartner predicts that end users will spend some $5.7 billion on 3D printing by 2017. The firm expects 1.1 billion 3D printers to be shipped in the same timeframe, and notes the rapid development and new product opportunities that may spring from the development of the technology. Still, it warns that applications for the technology may be overhyped and that companies will have to adapt their business models to fit 3D printing into the mix.
