Two-thirds of the respondents say they have already deployed some facet of SDN. Approximately 35 percent have implemented an SDN underlay, while 27 percent are using an SDN overlay technology.

Solution providers should know that the two largest SDN solutions on the market are Cisco's Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) and VMware's NSX. Channel partners can also align themselves with the physical SDN leaders, which include Cisco, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Juniper Networks, Dell, Brocade Communications and Arista Networks.
