The top three challenges in moving to the cloud are loss of visibly and control, tracking end-user experience, and enforcement of SLAs (service-level agreements), the study uncovered. Nearly 90 percent of respondents cite each of those issues as being 'very' or 'somewhat' challenging.

"The network is being held to a higher level of availability and performance than ever before. At the same time, hybrid cloud networking is becoming the new normal," said McGillicuddy. "That represents a dual challenge to enterprises, as they need to retool for a new hybrid environment while finding a better way to analyze performance and manage their resources."
