Organizations need to be wary of placing so much emphasis on age that they lose sight of individual preferences and skill sets that transcend generational clichés, the study recommended.

Instead, they should rely on robust, nuanced talent strategies and analytics to recruit, retain and grow top talent. The study proposes that companies map a short-term and long-term talent strategy, assessing the current state to set a baseline and identifying improvements. 

The talent strategy could consider factors such as compensation, diversity, management styles and training, the study said.
